Referrer Overview no data with week or month period

The "Details by Referrer Type" shows no data for some weeks or months when the period of week or month is chosen.
The display of days within those periods on the other hand shows all the details.
I have some screenshots attached.
The version is 1.11.1

Cant reproduce on my own installation or the demo.piwik.org. Did you use a custom dashboard?

I just set up a dashboard with just that widget to make the screenshot easier.
It looks like it is some kind of problem with my data.
After deleting all the archive_* tables and completely re-archiving everything again the widgets now work as expected. Fortunately I still had all the details logs.
Now the interesting part is why the data was corrupt. Are you interested in the data?
