.htaccess files we created in Piwik could contain some helper code to make Apache load the HTML files as HTML.

     AddHandler text/html .html
     AddHandler text/html .htm

Note: this will only work if in the vhost configuration you have "AllowOverride All" (it won't work if you have "AllowOverride None")
