Original report at SourceForge, opened Sun Nov 22 12:44:46 2009 Thanks for getting the emf backend working again. It would be very nice, if the emf backend could support math text or latex, as emf is currently the only vector format working in open office...

SVG works fine in OpenOffice when "svg.embed_char_paths" is set to "False" or "svg.fonttype" is set to "none".

With the "textpath" working, I supposed that math text should be supported across all backends (by embedding the texts as paths). Can someone confirm that this is (or is not) the case?

@leejjoon: I'm not entirely sure that I have tested correctly, but the following code: import matplotlib.pyplot as plt plt.text(0.5, 0.5, r'$\sum_{i=0}^\infty x_i$') plt.savefig('sample.emf') when imported into Libre Writer (I'm not sure what else to view it in), does not have math text support.

emf backend is being deleted, so I am closing this.
