If the secret key for an app changes, the user session can become corrupted. Check for this, and clear the session variables.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this - worked for me, but I'm not sure if this is the best implementation.

It also happens when you have several flask apps on the same server and use http://ip:port to access them.
