This recipe gives the user access to their entire iCloud account through the web interface. I originally intended this to be for Apple Mail only, but it was easier to go with iCloud in general.

Forgive me for what is surely a beginner question, but how do I implement this recipe? I'm completely new to all of this and GitHub in general. I just installed Franz and need to access iCloud. Until it is officially supported, it sounds like this is the best option. Can you give me a push in the right direction please? Thanks!

I'm also a beginner, so no worries!

  1. You will need to navigate to ~/Library/Application Support/Franz/recipes/ and create a new folder named dev.

  2. Go to my repository linked in the first post above and extract the files. Rename the "franz-icloud-master" folder to "iCloud" (without the quotes), and place it in the dev folder you just created.

  3. If you already have Franz open, restart it so that it will recognize the dev folder.

  4. Click the + to add a service. You should now see a Development (1) button next to Most Popular and All Services.

  5. Click the Development button and you should have iCloud available. You may have to add the icon manually, but that is included in the files you placed in the ~/Library/Application Support/Franz/recipes/dev folder.

If you need additional help, let me know. The notification badge is not currently working, so if you (or anyone) can figure out how to make that work, please let me know and I will make the changes to the webview.js file.

Also, if you want the service to point to the main iCloud menu instead of Mail, just change the serviceURL from https://www.icloud.com/#mail to https://www.icloud.com in the package.json file. You can navigate just as you normally would on the website, since Franz is basically just a service aggregator for web pages.

Cheers,
Bryan

I'm running the plug-in on a windows computer and I'm not sure if you face the same problem. In My case I'm unable to get the pop-ups for new message or reply/forward and open a message. Is this something which is possible with Franz or is this blocked?

At the moment, I't possible to view mails but I'm unable to create or answer.

Cheers
Daniel
