Tudor is Self-Recording studio for multiple tutors.

Why Tudor?

This service is made to help tutors record themselves. Tutors. So...it's just like a typo in Tutor which brings sense of humour and sound of medieval.

Naming:

  • /host = host is application API which handles direct operations to FFMPEG. Private.
  • /site_app = Public service part which runs inside docker container and have access to database and port on host
  • /site_app/welsh = Welsh is backend project for django
  • /site_app/welsh/ludlow = Ludlow is django app, it handles all public API
  • /site_app/york = York is React app,

How to run

Install OSX

  1. install pip install virtualenvwrapper
  2. add the following lines to your ~/.bashrc file:
    export WORKON_HOME=$HOME/.virtualenvs
    source /usr/local/bin/virtualenvwrapper.sh
  1. then run
source ~/.bashrc
mkvirtualenv -p /path/to/python3 tudor
  1. install react and all node deps (you should have node and npm installed)
cd /site_app/york
npm install

How to develop

  1. In settings.py set SERVER_PATH_ROOT to appropriate folder on server, courses structure will be autogenerated from it
  2. Install python 3.6
  3. Install all requirements (pip install -r requirements.txt)
  4. Run run.sh

Build webpack for production

./node_modules/webpack/bin/webpack.js --config webpack.prod.config.js
