The Switch version is based on a slightly outdated version of melonDS that has a bug that causes Pokémon gen 5 to crash when the C-Gear is enabled.

We have a small program that can fix this issue if you can provide a save state from right before the game crashes. If you can post a save state here I'll run the program on it for you and you should be able to load it on your Switch.

Once you load the save state, please immediately turn off the C-Gear in the game and never turn it on again to avoid this problem happening, and remember to use in-game saves frequently rather than save states.

I know this is making fun of my issue post ealier. However, I feel it is unjust.

I moved my savefile from Delta to Melonds on PC, ran the game in Melonds 0.9.1. Verifying it does not save and will crash, then made a save file and complied your fix @nadiaholmquist and im now i'm having the issue of State load failed. I can't verify if the fix works or not as I am unable to load the save.

Heh actually it's not. We were joking about how the semi-official Switch port of melonDS also has this issue and that we would only provide support for users who somehow managed to post from the Switch itself, so Generic did just that.

Anyway, if you are on Windows that program will corrupt your save state because I only tested it on Linux and forgot to account for how Windows will unexpected corrupt your binary files if you don't open them in a special binary mode. Use Generic's fork of the Gist instead: https://gist.github.com/RSDuck/3a39d1c71e3a4068849603141c162b3f

I am sorry for making that assumption. I was wrong to do so. I should have asked for clarification before making such a comment. Thank you for directing me to the correct file. I was able to get it to work now. Did not know windows was that terrible
