Hi
I have a big database with Thousands of tables and views and SYNC DATABASE process (SQL SERVER) is taking too much time (sometimes it takes more than 12 hours) making the whole database lock.
It would be great if I can disable this sync allowing to manually do it and also having the weekly schedule option.

Thanks.

Hi @nicokras
Are you sure it's the "sync" and not the "scan" that puts load on your database?
You can enable "This is a large database, so let me choose when Metabase syncs and scans" in Admin > Databases > (database), which then adds the "Scheduling" tab on save, where you can define weekly or monthly scans, or disable it.

@nicokras
Then it seems more like a bug, than a feature request - might be both.
Which version of Metabase? Which version of SQL?
