EDAN - Emacs Distributed Archive Network

THIS IS DEPRECATED SOFTWARE: all future development is in support of el-get

EDAN is a BSD ports-inspired approach to providing access to Emacs Lisp packages. It differs from ELPA, the Emacs Lisp Package Archive because it does not

  • require authors to modify their software to archive standards
  • centralize all software at the archive

Instead, EDAN simply grabs software from wherever the author offers it and installs it, much like you would.

Installation

git clone git://github.com/metaperl/edan.git

Configure

Edit edan/Makefile.include

Set MY_ELISP_DIR to a directory on your Emacs Lisp load path.

Next, set THIS to the directory that edan was downloaded to.

IMPORTANT: make sure there are no trailing spaces on these variable names.

Run

cd edan
make

The make command will copy an init-edan.el file to MY_ELISP_DIR to load in the edan framework.

Edit your emacs init file

Add the following to to your emacs init file

(add-to-list 'load-path "~/emacs/init")
(require 'init-edan)

Usage

cd pkg/$pkg && make

Something went wrong with that request. Please try again.
