I left a machine running here at the office Friday night, and noticed something I thought was a little strange when I came in in this morning. Meteor had restarted every day at 2:05, AM and PM.

Thanks @davidworkman9. This is an interesting manifestation of #2536. Closing as duplicate.

I'm guessing you have some process going on at 12 hour intervals that either slows things down enough to tip the outer meteor runner process into sending the keepalives too slowly, or something that touches the files on disk and causes rebundling.

Actually there's nothing going on at 12 hour intervals that I know of. I did some experimenting over a few days. Its exactly every 12 hours after meteor started.

Iiinteresting. grepping around finds a 12 hour timer on the self-update check. I guess that is what is slowing the outer process down.

Hmm that sounds about right. This is a fairly slow machine we use simply as
a test runner, 1.6 GHz atom quad core.

Out of curiosity, does your app have a lot of separate files? Also, does the machine have particularly slow disk I/O?

Disk I/O should be quite high its on an SSD. There are quite a few separate
files. Its a large app.
