I couldn't reproduce this with a minimal example, but I do have a code branch you can pull down to reproduce this issue.

I was updating the leaderboard example with the suggested enhancements. I tried making the "Sort by Name / Sort by Scores" toggle button adjust its text depending on the current sort strategy. When I added this code:

<input type="button" id="toggle_sort" value='{{sort_val}}' />

I noticed that the value of the button was always "Sorting by Name" and never changed to "Sorting by Score"

I added {{sort_val}} directly to the page, and it updated properly.
I added an html <button> element to the page, and it updated properly.

The attached image showcases the problem.

You can also clone the source and see it for yourself from:

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Can you try the devel branch?

The issue appears to be happening on the development branch.

I was able to reproduce this on the master branch but not on devel; I'm pretty sure that the commit 723154e fixed it. Are you sure you can reproduce it using the devel branch of Meteor?

It is broken for me on devel as well as master. When I first started meteor from devel I got a message that my dependency kit was out of date, so I'm fairly certain it's actually using the devel branch.

The head of my meteor branch is at 11f98e0

I do have a non-standard install. I'm on Arch, I installed via git, but I also have meteor under /usr/local/bin/meteor

When I run the application, I don't type meteor, I type ~/code/meteor/meteor which is the location of the devel branch on my system.

My page must not have refreshed properly. This issue is fixed in devel. Sorry.
