Widgets are a useful WordPress feature that lets you add bits of functionality to widgetized areas of your site without having to know anything about template tags or shortcodes. If your active theme has any widgetized areas you can add widgets to them from the Appearance > Widgets administrative page. We'll go over the widgets Webcomic adds here; for more general information on working with widgets please see the WordPress codex page on widgets.
