Dynabomber

Multiplayer Silverlight clone of bomberman (2010). The game is only available for multiplayer gameplay and will only start with 2 or more players available. It is able to hold up to 4 concurrent players playing in one round.

Deployment instructions

On Windows, the server application requires .NET Framework 3.5 installed to run. On Linux and MacOS X operating systems, it requires at least Mono 2.6 installed. Also, to serve the client application to clients, an HTTP server (Apache, IIS, LightHTTPd or any other) has to be installed. In its configuration the MIME type for .xap files has to be set to application/x-silverlight-2.

Prerequirements

Server application communicates through ports 943 for authentication and 4502 for game data. Those ports need to be accessible from the clients. Also the server needs to serve the client application over port 80 through a web server.

Windows

  1. Copy index.html and DynaBomberClient.xap file to HTTP server's public folders (c:\inetpub for IIS)
  2. Run DynaBomber Server.exe

Linux/MacOS X

  1. Copy index.html and DynaBomberClient.xap file to HTTP server's public folders (/var/www for Apache)
  2. Run mono DynaBomber Server.exe

Client application

Clients trying to play the game need to only have Silverlight plugin (available from http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/) of version 3.0 or newer. 1. Open the server webpage, on which the "index.html" from server-side is served.
