Hi,

On Linux system from kernel 4.14.x and above the screensaver video modes (basic, rgb and collage) are stopping playing video after few seconds. The sound is still playing with a static frame picture for few more seconds. The issue seems to be related to some AM internal timer mechanism being affected by a change introduced in 4.14 kernel version.

Using console print function inside the screensaver.nut file, it appears that the AM application stops calling the tick function. The system does not accept inputs nor unfreeze when the issue materialized.

It can be reproduce by using any 4.14 vanilla kernel and starting the screen saver in movie mode.

The image collage is not affected by the issue. Video playback inside layouts is working as expected.

Cheers.

Additional information:

The issue is identical if the screensaver.nut script is placed inside the layouts folder.

It seems that for whatever reason the saver_tick function is not called anymore by AM after few seconds.

Next step is to check if debug/verbose could provide more information.

The issue have been revealed by AM when entering the screen saver mode. Nevertheless, AM is not directly responsible of the issue which is linked to the video decoding implementation. Therefore, I close the issue.
