Allow more combinations / keys to change language layout #15817

You can set the tilde key (above Tab) to change layouts in Windows settings, then you can remap RCtrl (or whatever you like) to tilde in Powertoys. You can also then remap the tilde key to something else. |

layout as in DVORK or layout as in langauge layout? /needinfo |
This. |

So you want a hot swap from like English to French? Win+Space and have the keyboard packs installed. Is there something else i'm missing here? /needinfo |

I want to have a way to bind language switch to non-default keys/combinations, i know about win+space, and it's not what i want, using right ctrl is really better for me. As you can see here and here linux already have a wide range of combinations/keys to pick for switch languages, i want something like this in powertoys. |

this would be enabled via keyboard manager then to remap that. does that not handle it? We'd be doing that under the hood |
|
I'm fine with this functionality being in keyboard manager. |
Description of the new feature / enhancement
In linux, for example, there are many alternative combinations for changing keyboard layout, even with one key, would be nice to have similar on windows.

Scenario when this would be used?
Since moving from linux i really miss native way to change keyboard layout with one key (right ctrl), there is a way to do this with lswitch program, but it's not ideal, switching keyboard layout with right ctrl does not work in some explorer windows, and it lswitch stops working rarely, so i want this functionality in powertoys.
