CxPlat stands for 'cross platform', and is meant to be a platform abstraction library for many OS layer components. One major distinction of this library, compared to the many others out there, is the support for Windows kernel mode, in addition to the various user mode platforms. The code here was originally part of MsQuic, but refactored into a stand alone library for general usage.
This library is (or will be) used by various Microsoft cross-platform components, but is also free to use by anthing else. Though, currently, no 'official' support is committed to for this library outside our internal usage.
This project welcomes contributions and suggestions. Most contributions require you to agree to a Contributor License Agreement (CLA) declaring that you have the right to, and actually do, grant us the rights to use your contribution. For details, visit https://cla.opensource.microsoft.com.
When you submit a pull request, a CLA bot will automatically determine whether you need to provide a CLA and decorate the PR appropriately (e.g., status check, comment). Simply follow the instructions provided by the bot. You will only need to do this once across all repos using our CLA.
