Cannot connect to Azure Function in an Internal ASE

Hi

We are deploying to an app to Azure Functions located within an Internal ASE. This extension cannot connect o the function app because it thinks the apps URL is:

https://.scm.azurewebsites.net

rather than

https://.scm.mycustomdomain.com

I can connect to the subscription and get the list of function apps, but cannot see or deploy the function - getting a getaddrinfo ENOTFOUND error message.

Is this a bug or is this not compatible for function apps within an Internal ASE?

@pkbullock I'm happy to investigate, but I'm not that familiar with an 'Internal ASE'. Can you clarify what 'ASE' stands for and give more detail on how to re-create a similar environment so that I can reproduce the bug?

Hi @EricJizbaMSFT ,

Sorry, when I say ASE I mean App Service Environment, so in the Azure Setup, we have a Virtual Network, with an Internal ASE, the ASE contains a Function App. We connect to the ASE/Function App, by having a Windows 2016 VM in another Subnet to allow connection, the VM DNS entry is mapped to the App in the hosts file with both the App full name and the SCM address as per: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/app-service/environment/create-ilb-ase

In this manner, I can connect to the function app via the portal and via visual studio with full functionality, but not with this extension. When the error comes back it includes the URL of the Function App, but that URL is wrong, as mentioned earlier.

Thanks for looking at this, I understand this is a specialist case, just not sure if this extension was intended for use in App Service Environments.
