Analyzing in background runs forever. The python tools server crashes 5 times in the last 3 minutes

When I save files (ex: https://github.com/freqtrade/freqtrade/blob/develop/tests/strategy/test_interface.py )

I get analyzing in background at the bottom of my VSCode running forever and eventually I get "The Python tools server crashed 5 times in the last 3 minutes. The server will not restart"

Also, can you share logs from either developer tools (Help > Toggle developer tools) or Output > Python panel?

+1 I'm also having this issue, started within the last week. It seems like the background analysis keeps restarting over and over? See screenshot. Language server is set to Default. When I try switching to Pylance it's clear it's not the one I've been using, looks totally different.

@timothyshaw Change language server to either Default (selects Pylance or Jedi based on the python version), Pylance or JediLSP. Microsoft Python Language server is not actively developed on.

Got it, didn't realize that. Maybe "Default" was somehow still selecting Microsoft Python Language server for me. Switched to JediLSP and working well.

@samgermain what you are seeing there looks like a network issue. and seems to be related to mtxr.sqltools-0.23.0.
