In-Ear EEG for Epileptic Seizure Prediction

This project is intended to create a wearable device that can fit inside a patient's ear that can preemptively detect an epileptic seizure and warn the user before the seizure occurs. The device will contain embedded electrodes that will make contact with four particular regions inside the ear canal of the user. These electrodes will be used as a non-invasive method of recording electrical activity of the brain. Our device is targeted to be the size of a common hearing aid and will communicate its data to a mobile device via Bluetooth Low-Energy. Once transferred, the data will be analyzed on a PC/mobile device to determine if the brain activity resembles that of a precursor to an epileptic seizure. This data can then be used to inform the user of their brain state.
