ColorTribe pipeline

ColorHealer

ColorHealer is a measure and calibration tool.

Calibration

In this mode, ColorKeeper is used to display color patches at the right time.
For that, you'll need to open a TCP/IP connection between ColorHealer and ColorKeeper (ColorCalib tab of ColorKeeper).

Calibration protocol has been developped in collaboration with ENS Louis Lumière school. This protocol allow the calibrator to adjust OSD settings of a screen to match a chosen standard (ex : REC709) and process a 2D LUT that ColorKeeper will use to correct screen gamma.

Measure

You can use measure mode with or without ColorKeeper. Without, you'll have to display color patch by yourself, using Paint or Gimp for example.

3 modes of measures are available :

  • Single measure
  • Continuous measure
  • Batch measures In each mode, measures are displayed in a diagram (CIE 1931 or CIE 1976) and an HTML report can be exported.

Supported probes

  • Konica-Minolta CS-200
  • Klein K-10
  • Datacolor Spyders but you'll have to ask Datacolor for an API autorization key. Contact C. David Tobie CDTobie@datacolor.com, Global Product Technology Manager at Datacolor.

ColorHealer can support XRite's probes (EyeOne Display, EyeOne Pro, ColorMunki...) but to be able to use XRite SDK you'll need to sign a specific agreement with them. Your integration of the driver in ColorHealer source code must remain private.

ColorKeeper

ColorKeeper is the correction loader that comes with some useful tools.

ColorCron
At launch, ColorKeeper detects screens configuration and try to find a correction file corresponding to screens plugged on the machine to load them in the ramdac of the graphic card. To counter colors attack, the correction file is reloaded regularly. In the tab ColorCron, screens and correction files informations are displayed.

ColorToy
ColorToy tab provides some usefull tools for the artist :

  • the possibility to toggle the correction
  • a custom 2D LUT preview (cineon, ...)
  • printer light sliders
  • a gamma slider

A miniature version of ColorToy called MiniToy can be launch by right-clicking on ColorKeeper icon in the task tray.

ColorCalib
This tab allow the calibrator to initiate a connection with ColorHealer to start a calibration/measure session.

ColorChief

ColorChief was supposed to be a calib request management web app. Unfortunatly, this part hasn't been developped by lack of time.

However, a very simple feature has been implemented to allow calibrators to know when a station is un-calibrated : when a problem is detected (change of screen configuration, obsolete correction file...), ColorKeeper can send an email. To use this feature, you'll have to set up the file mailer.ini.

ColorLib tools

  • ColorRamdac
Set a 2D-LUT in the ramdac of a graphic card.
    Syntax :

ColorRamdac <path to the gamma file>
ColorRamdac <screen number> <path to the gamma file>

  • DisplayDeviceScout
Display informations about screens (from EDID).
    Example :

***** Local host : devlin04 *****
--------- Display Devices ---------
------ Display 1
