An experiment to build a terminal based IM client. Currently, only a Campfire adapter is implemented, but the idea is to support multiple backends. Scope
vendor/ash-campfire to get the idea.
This is a work in progress, but the Campfire implementation is solid enough to use. Check out the walkthrough below for some screenshots.
- Ruby 2.0+ (probably 1.9 too, but not tested)
- Clone the project
~/.ash.yml, and set
- Install dependencies with
- Run with
:help and hit return to show a full list of commands:
:rooms to show a list of rooms (as per your config YAML file):
Join room 1 by typing
List people in the current room with
Type messages and hit return to post. You can clear the screen buffer at any time, type
Switch to room 2 with
You can switch back to room 1 with
