    In #1, I don't know what "packing" was supposed to be, so I made it "deal".

In #2, did Pelosi just say "Leader McConnell," not "Majority Leader McConnell"? I can't verify the quote.

Notable #1 -- "post-Pelosi party" sounds like a celebration, hence my suggested clarification. The second part of the sentence could use another look -- Hastings's "intraparty war" seems to be the intergenerational showdown that is expected to happen if Pelosi steps down. Current wording makes it sound as though it's the "post-Pelosi Democratic Party" that will trigger the war.
