mappable.js

A JQuery plugin that dynamically resizes image map areas based on the image size and their respective coordinates. This plugin is a super light-weight, yet useful utility.

Also sets data attributes on each area regarding their new offsetTop, offsetRight, offsetBottom, offsetLeft, width, and height.

Installation

with bower, type in your terminal:

bower install mappable

without bower, simply copy and paste the mappable.js file into your project.

Usage

html:

<img class="my-img" src='path/to/image.jpg' usemap='#my-map'>

<map name='my-map'>
  <area shape="rect" coords="288,26,404,54" />
  <area shape="rect" coords="452,30,516,56" />
  <area shape="rect" coords="510,78,654,108" />
</map>

javascript:

$(".my-img").mappable();

...Doesn't get much easier than that.
