Checksum mismatch error on push with devicemapper

After I booting a kernel with aufs it works but I use btrfs which has issues with aufs. Thats why I need to get devicemapper working.
I only tried pushing to a private registry but I don't know if it's limited to that.

I am using gentoo on my host and tried version 0.7.0 and 0.7.1 of docker.

Just to make sure, you're running the docker daemon with -s device-mapper to force it to use device-mapper, right?

I just added it (the driver was called devicemapper) same result. While I was searching for that issue I found a conversation on bobot.met from the docker-dev channel right before the 0.7 release where you guys where trying to solve that issue...

@tianon Did arch have a weird tar version that was causing issues before?

It certainly did, but I don't remember if checksum issues were related to that.

Could it rather be tianon/docker-overlay#11? (see also https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=494116)
(ie, the reason we used a forked archive/tar in the first place)

@tianon Are all packagers using go 1.2 because if they are doing dynbinary and go 1.1.2 they have the old go tar

That's exactly what I'm saying might be the issue here, @crosbymichael. :)

Gentoo doesn't have Go 1.2 packaged yet (for as-yet unknown reasons), which is why I've submitted the ticket to get those tar patches included in 1.1.2 to give us a stop-gap until Go 1.2 is finally put in.

In Arch's case, I think it would do the trick nicely if @seblu just changed the makedepends to depend on go>=1.2, since Arch does have 1.2 packaged.

@Tranquility any chance you could try either =dev-lang/go-9999 or a go-1.2 ebuild from an overlay (as mentioned in that other ticket) to see if that is indeed the issue here?

Arch version is build against go1.2. We don't put strict version in depends, as we expect user always be up-to-date.

So far I don't understand what is not working.

When I tried to push on that arch maschine and it failed it was linked against go 1.1.2. So it might have been the problem. But I don't understand why the problem remains for me with 1.2.

Wouldn't this tar issue actually be manifested and persisted on image creation, not just during push?

@Tranquility did you create the images you're trying to push on 0.7.1 with Go 1.1.2, or before with 0.7.0? Can you reasonably recreate them now that you're on Go 1.2 to verify?

Just as an FYI, 0.7.2 is now in tree (as is 0.7.1-r1), and both now reference go-1.2, which is also now in tree.
