Common Data and Network Errors

This page explains the most common error messages in modcore Extension Manager and provides steps to troubleshoot them.

Network Error

A “Network Error” occurs when your device is unable to connect to the internet. Possible causes:

  • You are offline or not connected to a network
  • Your internet connection is unstable or slow
  • The connection dropped during an action (e.g., fetching or updating data)

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check Internet Connection

    • Ensure you are connected to a stable Wi-Fi or wired network
    • Open a website in your browser to confirm connectivity
    • Temporarily disable VPN, proxy, or firewall to rule out network blocking
  2. Restart and Reload

    • Restart modcore Extension Manager and try again
    • Reload or restart your browser completely
  3. Clear Local Data

    • Go to Options → Backup & Restore → Data Management to clear cache or local data
  4. Update Extension

    • Make sure you are using the latest version of modcore Extension Manager
  5. Contact Support

    • If the issue persists, provide details about when the error occurs

Could Not Fetch Data

A “Could Not Fetch Data” message appears when the extension cannot retrieve required information from the server. Common causes:

  • Temporary server issues or maintenance
  • Network or internet problems
  • Rate limits (too many requests in a short period)
  • Internal extension or server errors
  • Corrupted or outdated browser/extension data

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check Connection

    • Ensure your internet is active and stable
    • Disable VPN, proxy, or firewall temporarily
    • Retry the action after a few seconds
  2. Verify Extension Version

    • Ensure you are using the latest version of modcore Extension Manager
  3. Resolve Local Issues

    • Restart your browser and reopen the extension
    • Clear local data via Options → Backup & Restore → Data Management
    • Disable recently installed or updated add-ons if they may interfere
  4. If the Problem Continues

    • Wait a few minutes in case of temporary server issues or rate limiting
    • Contact support and include:
      • When the error occurs
      • Any visible error codes or logs
      • Your modcore Extension Manager and browser versions

No Data Available

A “No Data Available” message indicates that the requested data cannot be displayed. Possible reasons:

  • Temporary server or backend issues
  • Local cache problems
  • No data to show (e.g., beta versions or experimental builds)
  • Data synchronization delays
  • Unexpected server-side changes

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Verify Connection

    • Ensure you are online and the connection is stable
    • Refresh data or reload the extension
  2. Check Server or Beta Conditions

    • If using a beta or experimental build, some data sources may be temporarily unavailable
  3. Resolve Local Issues

    • Restart your browser and reopen the extension
    • Clear local data via Options → Backup & Restore → Data Management
    • Disable and re-enable the extension if the issue persists
  4. Contact Support

    • Provide:
      • Description of where the message appears
      • Extension version and browser version
      • Whether you are using a beta or stable release
