About

its-ok-to-die is a project by Aarón Montoya-Moraga.

its-ok-to-die is a project that consists of a countdown timer to your own expected death date, based on the database by The World Bank https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/SP.DYN.LE00.IN.

Aarón was born in 1989 in Chile and their corresponding life expectancy is 72.23 years, according to this database.

This project is part of the author's thesis for graduating from the Interactive Telecommunications Program at Tisch School of the Arts, New York university, under the guidance of professor Andrew Lazarow and research residents Tigran Paravyan and Justin Peake.

Versions

  • v0 (2017): original physical version, countdown to the author's expected death date, done in Processing.
  • v1 (2018): interactive web version, built using p5.js.
