Storing stuff as latin-1 is so 1990's, we want utf-8.
Should we still have support for m3u/latin-1 so we can read .m3u files provided by others, or is the use of m3u/m3u8 something we consider internal to Mopidy?
Wondering if we want to close this in favor of the sqlite idea, or if we just want to keep m3u(8)s around for playlists and only replace the tag cache.
Given that the playlists must be in the "playlist dir", and we don't support random playlists laying around in the music directory, I'd vote for storing the playlists in the same database as the tag cache.
Closing based on assumption that we move this to sqlite etc.
