I've a subfolder for an ardour project with some empty wave files (just headers), and the scanner hangs while processing them. Maybe this will be indirectly solved if the scanner timeout is implemented as suggested for this other scanner issue #476

Strange, some of the test files we use are empty wavs, but empty in the sense of short file with silence not truly empty in the just the headers sense. Would you happen to have link to such a file or be able to share it. Would be nice to add it as a test case for #476 (which is likely to solve this issue as well).

Sure it is! I've uploaded it here: https://copy.com/PKv2RcSSPY1j
I'm pretty sure that's the file (I've more of them around, so for this moment I've set the main project directory as unreadable), since the scanner was stuck for minutes and using lsof it was working on that file.

Could you please upload the file elsewhere? I am getting '{"result":"error","error_code":"1012","error_string":"Cannot find requested object id "}' and am not able to download.

I just merged the fix for #476, which will hopefully fix this issue as well. Please reopen if this is still an issue.
