Once this is landed, I'll update playdoh-lib, playdoh and playdoh-docs to highlight how to switch off celery for arecibo sending.

I left it default to True so it doesn't break existing applications that have grown to depend on this.

arecibo requires celery. Why not just set ARECIBO_SERVER_URL to an empty string?

does the django_arecibo.wrapper work without celery? the docs say that celery is required: http://arecibo.readthedocs.org/en/latest/server/installation.html

Arecibo does NOT require celery. The Arecibo server does. http://arecibo.readthedocs.org/en/latest/client/django.html#using-celery

If I set ARECIBO_SERVER_URL = '' then I can't get errors log at all. In elmo we don't have or need celery so we're ready to take the hit of the syncronous call to arecibo.
