@qazedc

Accented characters don't appear. They do take up space, are selectable but invisible. I suspect it's a locale issue.

@brendandahl

Do you have a PDF that you can link to for testing?

@qazedc

Well, second pdf from issue 1071 for example (http://88.191.139.13/planTan-2012.pdf) text: "Réseau septembre 2011" shows as "R seau septembre 2011"

@arturadib

"Réseau septembre 2011" shows as "R seau septembre 2011"

Shows correctly here. Are you using the latest addon? What OS are you using?

@qazedc

Windows XP SP3 Russian, FF10 beta. Addon auto-updates so this shouldn't be the issue? Reproduces w/o "hardware acceleration" ( Firefox crashes on that document with it enabled all the time).

@arturadib

@notmasteryet Do you have a Windows in Russian to reproduce this?

@notmasteryet

Locale does not affect pdf.js fonts.

Currently fixed (by #1092?)

@qazedc could you verify it using http://mozilla.github.com/pdf.js/web/viewer.html

@qazedc

Unfortunately, the issue is still present for me.

@patrys

I have the same problem. In Firefox 9.0.1 on Fedora 16 some characters (namely "ś" in Polish documents) are missing, in Chrome 18.0.1010.0 all diacritics are missing.

@arturadib

@patrys Can you please provide an example PDF?

This PDF is missing accented characters : http://iliad.fr/presse/2012/CP_080312_Free_mobile.pdf

@notmasteryet

@Rik please open the separate issue for your document

Opened issue #1317

@notmasteryet

@Rik thank you

@kkujala

Seems to work now. FF 21.0a2 (2013-03-13) Win7 hwa=on. Closed as fixed?

@timvandermeij

Works perfectly fine for me too on Arch Linux, FF 19 and latest development pdf.js.

There are however some unrelated warnings on Win7, FF 19 and latest development pdf.js:
SMask warning (as seen many times in other issues) and 'globalCompositeOperation "multiply" is not supported'. Haven't seen that one before...

Maybe close this and open a new issue for the above warnings with this PDF file?

@brendandahl

There still missing text for me on osx try to find Réseau septembre 2011 (should be in upper left corner).

@Octopouce

Same here (Windows XP). Here is a more lightweight example:
http://www.stif.info/IMG/pdf/Deliberation_no2012-0163_relative_au_schema_directeur_du_RER_A.pdf
(headings display fine, but body text from page 12 onwards has missing accents, although ç and à display correctly)

There is even a file where it happens for some non-accented characters:
http://www.vfdb.de/download/TB_13_01_Crowd_densities.pdf
(the non-accented characters that disappear include g, k, x, z, B, P, V)

Do others see the same issue?

@timvandermeij

I do not see an issue with the original (réseau) PDF (now using Firefox 22, Windows 7 x64, HWA on and pdf.js development build). @Octopouce: your first link is dead, so I cannot test it. The second PDF is horribly rendered, but I do not see any missing charachters. Maybe this is an HWA issue?

@brendandahl

Working for me now, if still broken leave a comment to re-open.
