GC Performance may have degraded

I checked with rake benchmark and the current "master" has inferior results in benchmark/bm_app_lc_fizzbuzz.rb compared to "3.2.0".

I think commit 38b9a25 is the catalyst for this.

Below are the benchmark results including the a3365d8...f1d6af0 range.
