Serialization works wonders in Java using @message however the resulting MsgPack data is problematic in other languages - we end up getting field values without field names. It would be really useful to get a map (similar to JSON) so that we can see class names & field names.

Something like this:

map {
  className: SomeClass,
  fields: {
    name: "Roger Wilco"
    company: "Monolith Burgers"
    customers: [Object Map]
  }
}

Sorry for our late reply.

We are focusing on the development of msgpack-java v0.7.x now. Which is faster and simpler than the older versions. And I integrated it and https://github.com/FasterXML/jackson-databind/ with https://github.com/komamitsu/jackson-dataformat-msgpack.

With the library, you can easily serialize a Java object as a map in MessagePack format. If you're interested in it, please try it.
