As @johnnykv always wants code, here is what I want:

import core.interface
print core.interface.template.name
>>> 'default'
print core.interface.protocols.enabled
>>> ['http', 'modbus']

Is this something we can put into the databus or should we create a new interface?

I think it should be a new interface, the databus only knows about data, not protocols and stuff.
Most of the data can be collected around here.
