There seem to be some similarity between the goals of pwr and offpunk

Given that both tools are written in python and that offpunk has a modular approach with multiple tools (netcache to download and cache, ansicat to render in the terminal, opnk to decide how to open a given file/url), there might be opportunities to share code (or not).

This is, of course, an informal introduction and I would completely understand that pwr may have the goal of being a personal-project/standalone tool. Or that Offpunk’s philosophy might be too different from the one envisioned by pwr.

Whatever happen, it is nice to see more tools addressing the browsing offline problem and I wish long live to PWR.

Thank you for reaching out. I hadn't seen offpunk but it does indeed seem to overlap a bit. I think as you suggest, pwr is taking a slightly different (probably less reusable and more monolithic route) but they're in the same category. Another difference is I'm not trying to cache offline - if anything, it's a benefit that you get a fresh version of the saved article (particularly comment threads) when you read it the next day. Given the minimal approach I'm taking I'm not sure there's much opportunity for sharing code, but will most definitely update muxup.com/pwr and/or the README to mention that people attracted to this may like to review offpunk. I'll leave this issue open until I do that.
