You need to create QTimer instance, and connect to its timeout() signal. Single shots works only when event loop is started (app.exec).

Seeing as qmake doesn't do the necessary install_name_tool steps. Although it is only Amarok who insist this is necessary. It seems dodgy to me, I have a lot of stuff installed that doesn't have the name_tool id set correctly.
Configure derives the version and then ensures it is assigned and used where necessary. A dist target for Makefile thus not duplicating version determination logic. Dedup'd findsrc.pl into a Ruby module.
