Configuration

First of all you have to deploy the NLog.Targets.FireDotNet.dll together with the NLog.dll file.

To be able to debug to the Firebug console you have to make a few small adjustments to your NLog configuration: (NLog.config)

  1. you should add an extensions section in the nlog section like this:
<extensions>
  <add assembly="NLog.Targets.FireDotNet"/>
</extensions>
  1. you should add a target of the type FireDotNet:
<target name="firebugconsole" type="FireDotNet" />
  1. and add a logger that writes to the target e.g.
<logger name="*" minLevel="DEBUG" appendTo="firebugconsole"/>

your complete configuration file might look like this:

<nlog xmlns="http://www.nlog-project.org/schemas/NLog.xsd" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
  <extensions>
    <add assembly="NLog.Targets.FireDotNet"/>
  </extensions>
  <targets>
    <target name="firebugconsole" type="FireDotNet" />
  </targets>
  <rules>
    <logger name="*" minLevel="DEBUG" appendTo="firebugconsole"/>
  </rules>
</nlog>
