This release fixes a memory leak in the OpenCL (AMD) backend if cryptonight_r is mined which filled the full main memory and crashed the miner after a few hours.

Bellow you can find multipurpose config for Windows and Linux. The only difference is file format.
For Windows please open start.bat (for Linux file name is start.sh) and find the line listed bellow:

YOUR_XMR_ADDRESS.YOUR_WORKER/YOUR_EMAIL

You need to replace listed arguments vith your real data where:

YOUR_WALLET_ADDRESS - your valid Monero address
YOUR_PAYMENT_ID - your payment-ID(PAYLOAD). Optional. Don't add anything if you do not have a payment-ID.
YOUR_WORKER_NAME - simple short worker name (like worker01). Optional.
YOUR_EMAIL - your email address for notifications. Optional.

You also can change host server and port number regarding to your location and connection type

-O xmr-eu1.nanopool.org:14433 -> -O xmr-asia1.nanopool.org:14444

For Windows

xmr-stak.exe -O xmr-eu1.nanopool.org:14433 -u YOUR_XMR_ADDRESS.YOUR_WORKER/YOUR_EMAIL --currency monero -i 0 -p "" -r ""

For Linux

For Windows

Make sure start.bat file looks like this:

Where:

YOUR_WALLET_ADDRESS - your valid Monero address
YOUR_PAYMENT_ID - your payment-ID(PAYLOAD). Optional. Use 0 for local wallet.
YOUR_WORKER_NAME - simple short worker name (like worker01). Optional.
YOUR_EMAIL - your email address for notifications. Optional.

Don`t forget to set wallets, worker and email address to correct values.

1) Simple way

Execute start.bat. Don`t forget to set wallet, worker and email address for Monero to correct values.

2) Advanced mode

Follow this instruction to run miner:

  • Do you want to use the HTTP interface?
    0
  • Please enter the currency that you want to mine:
    monero7
  • Pool address:
    xmr-eu1.nanopool.org:14433
  • Username (wallet address or pool login):
    YOUR_ADDRESS
  • Password (mostly empty or x):
    YOUR_EMAIL
  • Rig identifier for pool-side statistics (needs pool support). Can be empty:
    YOUR_WORKER
  • Does this pool port support TLS/SSL? Use no if unknown. (y/N)
    y
  • Do you want to use nicehash on this pool? (y/n)
    n
  • Do you want to use multiple pools? (y/n)
    n

Config files from 2.4.X are NOT compatible to this release.

This release introduce the cryptonight_v8 POW of the upcoming Monero fork on 18th Oct 2018. Use the currency setting monero for automatic switching on the next fork.

Xmr-stak supports all CUDA devices form the last 8 years (Fermi, Kepler, Maxwell, Pascal, Volta, Turing).
You can now use with AMD Rocm 1.9.X.
