I'm happy to be using your gem here, but I had to monkey patch it to bypass SSL verification. Is there a reason you are using SSL to connect to a plain "http://" address? Anyways, this is a small patch to allow someone using the gem to bypass this without having to patch your code. Great gem by the way!
