…HOME env variable The maven build requires thrift to live in a particular location or be specified by the thrift.executable property at the command line. For example 'mvn -Dthrift.executable=/usr/local/bin/thrift'. This patch will attempt to use a THRIFT_HOME env variable as a default location for thrift. In the previous example THRIFT_HOME would be /usr/local.
The buildnumber plugin fails when attempting to build from a non git repo. This allows the user to specify a git hash via a -Dbuild.revision argument at the maven command line.
…ume-<version>/ Currently, when a tarball is generated by the flume-distribution module, all contents within the tarball live in ./flume-distribution-<version>/. This patch changes it so that contents within the tarball lives in ./flume-<version>/
The build previously used an implicit dependency on antlr-runtime. If the version dependency plugin is used this can cause situations where older versions win out. To fix this we add an explicit dependency to the build which ensure that the version flume requires wins.

- Remove dependencies on non-existing data sets. - Remove reporting tests (not relevent/supported) - Add some accounting to avro sink to present proper MB/s statistitcs on batched datasets - Update Maven build to create "microbenchmarks" profile
- commented out build number plugin because it breaks when not in git repo - added project assembly option - added RELEASENOTES to distributions
- some throwables such as NoClassDefFoundError are Errors which are not exceptions and would inadvertently get swallowed.
