I have been encountering a repeatable issue between the latest netsniff-ng and an
older one using TPACKET_V2 (git checkout -b beforev3 11eb8de)

The issue is that for the latest is that there's always n number of packets unread on exit. Though, no matter how long I wait after all the traffic has been sent that number does not decrease.

I have a screenshot attached. For the test I sent 100 mio packets of size 64.
FYI: The extra 2 or 3 packets shown that pass the filter is that issue I reported where netsniff-ng is picking up extra packets from eth0.

I have another screenshot showing how the latest netsniff-ng is having the same problem where 3 different runs ends up having the same number of packets not written to disk i.e. 294 unread on exit. Also note that the ring sizes should have been able to fit all 15000000 * 64 byte packets (915MiB) i.e.
$ echo $((15000000 * 64 / 1048576))
