When deployed to Kubernetes cluster, we are using host networking with Consul registry/discovery to by pass all the proxies to achieve best performance. When deploying to Google Cloud Platform, the downward API call to get status.hostIP seems not working and the internal IP is used to bind the instance.

kubectl describe pod apid-deployment-6cb6c4c969-4pbbn

got result like this.

 STATUS_HOST_IP: (v1:status.hostIP)

We need to put more debug info in Server.java to indicate which IP is used and if the hostIP is passed in correctly or not.
