george ardeleanu

why the double dependency on newrelic_rpm ? (can also see this on rubygems.org)
i've been having issues like these recently when working with gems that use both jeweler and bundler.
is this project set on using jeweler or would it be up for accepting a pull request that removes jeweler in favor of bundler and rubygems ?

Sam Goldstein

Yeah, we're not huge fans of jeweler, but haven't gotten around to removing it on this or the newrelic_rpm project. I'd welcome the pull request.

That said, we're in the process of phasing out the rpm_contrib gem in favor of smaller projects that focus on instrumenting one specific library (more like resque plugins). There's some more details in the README.

If you're interested in taking over any of the instrumentation in here let me know. You'd be in good company.
