I'm curious on whether it will be planned to support 3rd party Matterbridge integrations such as Discourse and Facebook Messenger.

https://github.com/42wim/matterbridge/#3rd-party-via-matterbridge-api

3rd party via matterbridge api

Discourse
Facebook messenger
Minecraft
Reddit
Counter-Strike, half-life and more
MatterAMXX

API

The API is basic at the moment. More info and examples on the wiki.

Used by the projects below. Feel free to make a PR to add your project to this list.

MatterLink (Matterbridge link for Minecraft Server chat)
pyCord (crossplatform chatbot)
Mattereddit (Reddit chat support)
fbridge (Facebook messenger support)
matterbabble (Discourse support)
MatterAMXX (Counter-Strike, half-life and more via AMXX mod)

@sunjam Using this Matterbridge API feature implies to start the API clients independently from Matterbridge itself. We most likely won't automate that. I mean, IMHO this integration is useful for people who don't know/want to dive into Matterbridge configuration.

I would say that advanced users who want to do more complex stuff like that might have the skills to manually configure Matterbridge + the API clients outside our integration.

That being said, we will certainly make our integration interface able to use all Matterbridge built-in backends (like Gitter, Ssh-chat...).
