Hang if I don't give oscilloscope a nickname

To reproduce:
  * Open glscopeclient, it shows "Connect To Instrument"
  * Fill in driver, transport, path. Do not fill in nickname
  * Press OK
  * GUI hangs

On stderr there's an error:
