v3.0 not starting on macos big sur 11.2.1

Operating System/Distribution: macos big sur 11.2.1

Describe the bug

1. Installed version 3.0.0 from
2. attempted to open the application (after allowing it from security setting)
3. System dialog says application exited with 255

Expected behavior

Application should open

Steps to reproduce the bug

1. Install version 3.0.0 from
2. open the application (after allowing it from security setting on first install)
