gedit-icing

Now compatible with Ubuntu 11.10

Because icing on gedit tastes so much better.

Interested in contributing? Try to keep your plugin/tool contained to an External Tools shell script so it has backwards-compatibility with gnome2 users.

NOTE: The popular Gmate is not fully ported to 11.10 yet.

ejs.lang

Thanks to @logicplace's original Gist.

mkdir -p ~/.local/share/mime/packages
mkdir -p ~/.local/share/gtksourceview-3.0/language-specs
wget https://raw.github.com/niftylettuce/gedit-icing/master/ejs.lang -O ~/.local/share/gtksourceview-3.0/language-specs/ejs.lang

Update the mime database and enjoy EJS syntax in gedit!

cd ~/.local/share
update-mime-database mime

This is much more enjoyable than having gedit recognize your .ejs files as plain ol' HTML!

styl.lang

Stylus Language Specification for GtkSourceView)

TODO: Update to proper syntax of Stylus (see Stylus official textmate bundle)

This is a start and provides a basic language spec for GtkSourceView editors such as gedit.

Installation Steps

Download styl.lang to your local language-specs folder:

mkdir -p ~/.local/share/mime/packages
mkdir -p ~/.local/share/gtksourceview-3.0/language-specs
wget https://raw.github.com/learnboost/stylus/master/editors/gedit/styl.lang -O ~/.local/share/gtksourceview-3.0/language-specs/styl.lang

Update the mime database and enjoy Stylus syntax in gedit!

cd ~/.local/share
update-mime-database mime

This is much more enjoyable than having gedit recognize your .styl files as Apache Confs!
