BF: Can't inplace division with different types.
Seems to be a new "feature" in numpy 1.10
BF: Another use of a ufunc across types with inline allocation.
Apparently that's a no-no on numpy 1.10.

So how about #617 after all? If any other thing breaks because of dependencies, everyone will know to not clone the latest master this way.
