In #1268, a user notes that standard copy-and-paste mechanics (i.e. Ctrl+C) do not work in portions of Zenmap's interface that are represented as a TreeView table. We should offer a way to export this data in a simple textual format such as CSV. Possible interfaces for such a functionality:

  • "Data" menu bar item with "Export to CSV" and "Copy CSV" submenu items.
  • Context menu ("right-click") with similar options.
  • Dedicated export/copy buttons on the "Ports/Hosts" tab.

Further enhancements could include:

  • Select columns to export (e.g. only the "Version" or "Hostname" columns)
  • Select rows to export (selection already works; export buttons would only export selected rows if any are selected).
