ncat ssl-protocol option #1522

There is an environment where ncat is acting both as client and server. Both instances of ncat connect to each other and get data using TLS/SSL.

I moved to openssl 1.1.1a, and recompiled ncat using that version. When using ncat with ssl as client and server, I cannot prevent ncat from choosing TLS 1.3. I try to use the --ssl-ciphers option, but the option is meaningless when TLS 1.3 is involved.

Is it possible to add an option to restrict the TLS version to use? (--ssl-protocol).

Thanks for the great tools!

That's a good idea. We would need to expose a way to do this in Nsock. We have some related issues surrounding compatible handshakes that may be relevant: #1488, #511, #378
