Hi in nmap packed with Kali:

After pressing key for status of scan taskprogress tag in xml broke other tag, in this case port

<port protocol="tcp" portid="4<taskprogress task="Connect Scan" time="1557906097" percent="94.02" remaining="4202" etc="1557910298"/>
<taskprogress task="Connect Scan" time="1557906098" percent="94.02" remaining="4202" etc="1557910299"/>
<taskprogress task="Connect Scan" time="1557906369" percent="94.30" remaining="4009" etc="1557910378"/>

<taskprogress task="Connect Scan" time="1557909330" percent="97.00" remaining="2147" etc="1557911477"/>
ortid="135"><state state="open" reason="syn-ack" reason_ttl="0"/><service name="msrpc" method="table" conf="3"/></port>
<port protocol="tcp" portid="139"><state state="open" reason="syn-ack" reason_ttl="0"/><service name="netbios-ssn" method="table" conf="3"/></port>

Hope it is not already reported, if so i couldn't find it.

Best Regards

Thanks for this report. What command-line options did you use for this? Are you printing to stdout with -oX - or to a file? Can you post a hex dump (using hd, hexdump, or xxd) of the relevant section of the output file?

There should be no reason why Nmap's output is mangled like this, since it only runs a single thread and the target output is done in a completely separate function from the task progress output.
